So…yeah. the new year is here and there is no Sledgepuppy EP. Broken promises, I know. BUT DON’T FRET. When it came down to it, I just wasn’t ready to churn out five songs within a month and a half period and still be proud of it. I still want to bring my best to you guys, because you deserve my best. That is why I have devised a new strategy for releasing music to the interwebs.
Firstly, screw iTunes. I don’t like the whole 30-90 second preview thing, and I also don’t like the fact that I had to wait until just YESTERDAY to finally get my first payment for “Declaration.” I MUCH prefer the BandCamp model. You can hear the whole song, no strings attached, and then if you want to buy it, you can in just a few clicks. Plus, there’s no middleman (like Tunecore for iTunes). So from now on, I’m gonna use BandCamp as my primary domain for music sales.
Secondly, it recently occurred to me that it takes me a long time to write, record, and master a song, let alone an EP or full-length album. So for 2012, I am going to try my DARNDEST to bring you a new song each month, starting in February. So hopefully, by December, I will have 12 new songs (including “Declaration”) that I may put together as a physical album. So instead of a bunch of songs at once, you’ll get a new song each month.
Thirdly, … there is no thirdly. I just want everyone to know I did not fall off the face of the Earth and will continue to make time for music among two jobs, school, a girlfriend, and many other unforeseen time-suckers. I AM BACK
